Use the button below to reserve a time to bring your class to the library for an information literacy teaching session. If you would like a librarian to come to your classroom, please email library@nelson.edu to get scheduled or if you have any other questions.
A faculty member may choose to make resources available "on reserve" for his or her students 24/7 behind the circulation desk. These materials can be regular library items or personal copies of books. The faculty member can decide if the item is to be only used in the library and for how many hours or days at a time. Even if a student is using the item in the library, it needs to be checked out at the circulation desk (scanned) so we know where it is at all times.
Articles and/or scans complying with Fair Use may also be placed on eReserve and will be available through the library catalog's Course Reserves tab. These collections are arranged by professor's name and course code/name. Users will need to log in using their Nelson username and password (as for Blackboard or email) to access online resources. The eReserves are made available each semester based on courses being offered that semester and are removed for inactive courses.
Faculty may contact library@nelson.edu to request items be added to either Course Reserves or eReserves.
Nelson University's faculty may utilize Interlibrary Loan to borrow resources that we do not already own (see Policies page for details). Use the button below to request an item.
The TexShare Card program allows users to borrow items from almost all Texas libraries free of charge (each library sets their own policy for how many items users may check out). Faculty interested in obtaining a TexShare card may visit a librarian in person, email library@nelson.edu, or call 972.825.4766.
